Walking Holidays

Walking holidays have never been more popular – and for good reason. There’s no better way to experience a place in such rich detail, noticing every view, every scent, and every small moment along the way. It’s a healthy choice for body and mind, and a wonderfully low-impact, environmentally responsible way to travel – which is why we love helping our clients plan them at YOURTravel.

With so many styles of walking holidays available (before you even choose the destination), it can be hard to know where to start. That’s where we come in.

At YOURTravel, we’ll guide you through the different types of walking trips and introduce you to both well-known walking operators and some of our favourite specialist providers. Whether you’re after a gently paced, self-guided ramble, a fully guided walk, a coastal path, a high-altitude trek, or something more challenging in between, we’d love to help you find the walking holiday that feels just right for you.

Some of our Favourite Walking Holidays

Tiger Leaping Gorge, Yunnan, China
Maxine's Choice - Tiger Leaping Gorge, Yunnan, China.

The Tiger Leaping Gorge trek is one of the finest treks through some of the most naturally beautiful and diverse landscapes China has to offer. The trail runs high on the northern side of the gorge passing through quiet villages, shady forest, blustery precipice and verdant terraced farmland. The snow covered peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain shadow either side of the gorge.

Kumano Kodo, Kii Pininsula, Japan
Specialist Choice - Kumano Kodo, Kii Peninsula, Japan.

Once a sacred pilgrimage reserved for emperors and samurai, these remote hiking routes weave through the rugged forested mountains where gods are believed to have resided since the beginning of time.  A great immersion into Japanese culture.
