FORGOTTEN WORLD
&
BRIDGE TO NOWHERE
4 Day Fully Hosted Small Group Tour.

This 4-day journey takes us to two of New Zealand’s most stunning “forgotten” destinations.

Beginning on the Kapiti Coast we journey to Ohakune a small town at the southern end of Tongariro National Park our home for two nights.

Experience the sights of the Forgotten World as we head by rail cart through 10 unique tunnels deep in a region where both civilisation and glory have long faded. Travel a century-old railway line from Tokirima to Okahukura, through the heart of the Forgotten World. Explore epic landscapes and changing scenery and hearing the stories of hardy pioneers and off the beaten path communities in this amazing adventure.

We then continue our journey from Ohakune to Whanganui, via Pipiriki, travelling upstream by jetboat into the middle reaches of the Whanganui River. Walk the Bridge to Nowhere and feel as if time has stood still. Pristine native bush cloaks the banks and you will see deep gorges covered with ferns, caves, rapids and other unique and amazing scenery.
The fourth day is completed with a delightful morning in the small riverside city of Whanganui, after breakfast is a ride down from Durie Hill in the historic elevator, followed by a short lake side walk around Lake Virginia, before we head towards home.
