EAST CAPE EXPLORER
Our 7-day East Cape Explorer tour takes us to the lessor known corner of the North Island, with wild & remote coastlines, along with plenty of culture and history.
With striking scenery along the way, from sprawling farming landscapes, to Te Apiti Windfarm high on the hills overlooking the Manawatu, as we head over to Napier in the gorgeous Hawkes Bay region.
Our dramatic coastal drive north from Napier, through Gisborne and onwards to Hicks Bay is a journey of beauty, as we discover the remote East Cape, its nature, history and culture, with time allowed to also explore Gisborne at your leisure.
Our adventure continues to towards the most easterly point on the mainland, before heading west again towards sunny Whakatane. We explore the often-missed Orakei Korako- Hidden Valley geothermal area, and then onwards to the beautiful Lava Glass sculpture garden.
Our final stretch sees us heading south towards the centre of the North Island, enjoying the backdrop of the volcanoes of Ruapehu, Tongariro and Ngauruhoe dominating the landscape, and exploring the National Army Museum, before arriving home.
