Ruapehu’s largest town, Taumarunui, is where we experience the sights of the Forgotten World as we head by rail cart through 10 unique tunnels deep in a region where both civilisation and glory have long faded.   Continuing on, we travel upstream by jetboat into the middle reaches of the Whanganui River and walk to the Bridge to Nowhere, with time spent taking in that feeling of time standing still.
